Welcome back to the Open GDF SUEZ for the fourth time. How are you feeling this year?
Thank you, I'm fine.I've just finished my first round math, which as a little strange as my opponent had to retire because she was sick. It's too bad for her, bad luck, really. I hope she'll feel better soon. I did manage to stay focused and play my game, though. But the fact that I love to play here helped. I mean the courts, the people, the tournament, it feels a little bit like home here.
Would you have preferred a more complete match, to prepare for the rest of the tournament?
The thing is, I can't really help it, so it will have to do. Today, I did my best, and that's also what I'm going to try to do again for my next round. But I have played several good matches in Australia and these matches provided good preparation too, as well as extra motivation.
What about your future in the 2010 Open GDF SUEZ?
I'm definitely going to have a tough second round match. There are only good platers here anyway, but it's going to be difficult. I don't even know who I'm going to play as their match is only scheduled for tomorrow, but both are talented players. What I have to do is play the best I can and let's see what happens.
As a GDF SUEZ team player, what is it like to be here?
It feels great, it just feels like home.
